the Technologies Driving a Computer

Computer Technology
Computers have become an integral part of our lives. We cannot imagine our lives without a computer in today’s world. But how many of us have an idea of the key technology that runs computer? Perhaps, not many have a good knowledge. Though not extremely important for everyone, but it is always good to know the stuff inside a computer that makes the computer what it is.

When initially you open the CPU of your computer, you really would not be able to figure out what’s present inside it. But once you get acquainted with the different parts present inside it, it would be a lot easier for you to understand the computer as a whole. This article discusses the major parts of a computer and the technology that runs it.
  • Power Supply:
Electrical energy is needed to run the mechanisms in your computer. The power supply is generally a rectangular box. To find the power supply, see towards back of the computer where the cable plug of the authority is present. Most of today’s authority supplies are provided in wattage and have an increment of 50 watts, like 500 watts, 550 watts, 600 watts etc.

  • Motherboard:
The second component of a computer is the motherboard. All the mechanisms of the computer are connected to the motherboard. However, it is not the processor’s brain. But, it holds the processor’s brain and enables it for acting together along with the machine’s other mechanisms.

  • Central Processing Unit (CPU):
This is the third and a valuable part of the computer. It is called the computer’s brain and the computer cannot perform any function without the presence of CPU. Whatever calculations are carried out by the machine, are done inside the CPU. The CPU is responsible for the control and activation of the system’s all other units. If the CPU is fast in calculating and giving the correct answers, the computer as a whole runs fast. The measurement of CPU is done in gigahertz (GHz). You can CPUs up to 3.8 GHz or faster.

  • Random Access Memory (RAM):
The RAM serves as a unit for momentary working storage in the machine. RAMs have different memories and speeds but for proper working of the machine, the RAM must be matching with the motherboard of the computer. Greater is the memory of RAM in a computer, better is the computer’s operation.

  • Hard Drive:
Hard drive is a storage unit which can be used to store anything. The hard drive’s materials generally include the operating system (OS), different kinds of software, games and other stuff. The hard drive’s capacity improves continually over the year, and in a few years, the capacity of the hard drive may rise from 20 MB to 500 GB. Hence, you can use it for storing a huge amount of information.

These are the major parts of the technology used in a computer. Apart from these, the machine also has cooling fans which cools the machine down when it gets heated up due to the heat produced by other components.
The technology in computers has advanced a great deal. Software has been created that allow you to enjoy numerous benefits through your computer. For example, in the recent times, software has been developed which allows you to watch TV on PC. You can enjoy numerous television shows with the help of this software.
Conclusion:
The technology in computers is constantly being upgraded. Now, the latest types of computers provide effortless multitasking, great presentation, and high speed dispensation and help to dramatically increase your output when using such machines.
